How have you been involved with staff development? If not, What professional area would you
like to learn more about this placement?
At both of my placements, I have been involved in all staff meetings and professional development days. I was always very interactive in the meetings that we would have at Cleveland on Friday mornings and during our meetings with the Instructional Coach to discuss instruction on Thursdays. The professional development days also involved us practicing a lot of the things we would do with the students. We also had a lot of training that would be sent from the district that I participated in.
With my placement at Prairie, I have continued my involvement with staff development by always engaging in PLCs. We have begun planning for parent-teacher conferences, which I think will be a great thing to experience professionally.
It will definitely be a great thing for you to experience the parent-teacher conferences and what those entail. I hope the start of your second placement has been going good so far!
